PSA imposed on notorious criminal

REASI, Jan 29: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Prasanna Ramaswamy G, today issued detention order under Public Safety Act (PSA) on a notorious criminal namely Shakoor Ahmed alias Shoki, son of Abdul Hamid of Kattal Gran Morh, tehsil and district Reasi, who was found involved in many criminal activities and besides creating frequent disruptions in the smooth completion of Railway projects of national importance, which are presently underway in district Reasi.
As per the contents of the dossier, which was prepared by SSP Reasi Tahir Sajad Bhat, the accused was found involved in various cases registered against him in the jurisdiction of P/S Reasi under various FIRs i.e, FIR No 143/2015 U/S 341, 323, 506 RPC, FIR No. 230/2017 U/S 307 RPC and 3/25 A Act, FIR No. 08/2018 U/S 382/341/323/506/34 RPC. The said person had recently committed two crimes, including an attempt to murder, on a safety supervisor of AFCON’S company in a short span of two months at the Railway construction site in Gran Morh, Reasi besides creating an atmosphere of fear and insecurity among the people engaged in the project.
The warrant in this regard was executed by SI Vinod Kumar and the detenue was informed the grounds of his arrest and was today sent to Kot Bhalwal Jail Jammu by District Police Reasi.
The PSA on Shakoor Ahmed has been imposed for the period of three months.
