Notorious drug trafficker arrested with heroin, opium

JAMMU, Jan 25: Gangyal police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a notorious drugs trafficker along with heroin and opium.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gangyal Police Station laid a naka near Kunjwani Chowk and intercepted a Creta car bearing registration number JKO2BU-2503.
During checking, police recovered 250 grams heroin worth Rs 25 lakh and 250 grams heroin opium from the possession of the driver and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Jatinder Singh alias Sonu, son of Bhupinder Singh, a resident of Digiana Camp Gangyal.
During questioning, the accused disclosed that he had brought the consignment from Damtal Punjab for selling among the youth residing in Miran Sahib, Simbal, Digiana and Gangyal and other areas of Jammu city.
A case under FIR Number 6/18 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gangyal and investigation started to arrest the associate of the accused.
Police team led by SHO Gangyal SI Nayat Ali and assisted by Incharge Greater Kailash Police Post SI Vicky Thappa made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas, SP South Sandeep Choudhary and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
