JAMMU, Jan 8: A woman pedestrian was killed today in a road mishap in Pounichak area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, an old woman identified as Mohini Dhar (72) wife of Badri Nath, resident of Bank Colony, Camp Road, Pounichak, received serious injuries this afternoon when a mini-tipper bearing registration number JK02BU-4062 hit her at Camp Road.
He said the injured woman was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where she was declared as brought dead by the doctors. “After completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites”, the official said, adding, a case in this connection was registered at concerned police station and investigations started.
