Thefts spree in Sainik Colony

JAMMU, Dec 22: The people of  Sainik Colony have been terrorized as about a dozen thefts have taken place in the area in past just two weeks.
The people alleged that thieves used pressure jacks to open the shutters of the shops at some places and bamboo stairs to enter houses. They use different tools to break houses. In sector B, C,D and E majority of the thefts have taken place. The people alleged that a new gang believed to have entered the locality or it could be the handiwork of Rohingya Muslims from Mayanmar, who are residing in various localities in Jammu.
The locals also alleged that there is no police or night patrolling during night hours. Even at nakas no body is seen after 11 pm. The  senior police officers  don’t bother no monitor night staff on duty. The concerned Incharge Police Post Sainik Colony and SHO Channi Himmat and SDPO West were told about the matter, but they have failed to keep check on the thefts in this entire area. They demanded shifting of entire staff and posting of effective police officers in the area.
