KUPWARA, Dec 20: District Development Commissioner Kupwara Khalid Jahangir today paid an extensive tour to various areas in Handwara and Langate to review the status of on-going developmental works, undertaken as the Chief Minister commitments.
The areas visited include Nutnussa, Haril, Qalamabad, Sonamulla, Chalpova Bumhama, Ganapora, Swachalyari, Lilam, Dahama, Ashkanpora, Sirajpora, Tarathpora, Cherpova falling in Langate and Handwara.
The District Development Commissioner directed the PDD to ensure completion of works under CM directions expediting within the stipulated time frame which are being carried out at Bumhama, Khan Basti, Nutnussa, Ganapora, Harril, Swuchalyari, Hingni Koot, Dolipora, areas.
He also inspected Sirajpora-Tulwari road and called upon the executing agency to complete the work by June 2018. A culvert being constructed at Ashkenpora was also inspected. A delegation of local inhabitants demanded construction of additional culvert near Jamia Masjid Wagath and construction of road to orchards located at Wadoora.
Several public deputations and sports lovers also met DDC and apprised him about the demands relating to developing works, healthcare and playfield and directions were passed to Executive Engineer PHE to take necessary steps for resolving difficulties of inhabitants. The Assistant Commissioner Development Kupwara and concerned BDO were directed to take up development of playground of Ganapora to fulfill the demands of the young players and sports lovers of the area.
The DDC also inspected the First Aid Centre (FAC) Ganapora to take stock of availability of staff medicines and maintenance of necessary records. The concerned were directed to provide all health facilities as per the needs and requirements of the locals especially the women.
While taking the stock of installation of LT HT line and changing of electric polls at Haril, the DDC directed to complete the work up to 24th December.
