JAMMU, Dec 19: On the fifth day of ongoing “Shri Gou Gopal Mahayagya”, thousands of devotees from different parts of the State and outside today thronged the venue in Sohanjana village, about 18 kms from Jammu city.
Pertinently, this 108-Kundiya Mahayagya is being solemnized on the banks of sacred Tawi river in Sohanjana as part of 57th birthday celebrations of Dewarika Nath Shastri Ji Maharaj, which falls on 25th December.
Today’s event was graced by reputed saints and religious scholars with their presence, including Sadhvi Bhuvaneshwari Devi Ji, Ghanshyam Shastri Ji, Kuldeep Shastri Ji and others, who enchanted the present gathering with their religious discourses and Satsang.
The programme began with hoisting of National Tri-colour and recitation of National Anthem by Swami Shri Gangadhar Ji Maharaj in the presence of a large number of devotees at about 11.00 am at the Yagya venue. This was followed by performing of Vedic rituals in the holy Yagya, recitation of holy “Shri Durga Saptashati” and “Shri Gopal Sahasaranam” along with performing of Havana by noted Sanskrit scholars including Acharya Shri Chuni Lal Ji, Acharya Shri Tarsem Sharma Ji, Acharya Shri Phool Kumar Ji and others.
On the other side, while addressing the devotees in Satsang Hall established near the Yagya venue, Swami Gangadhar Ji Maharaj said, “We should worship the Almighty God not for the sake of bringing change in our fortunes but to change our narrow mindedness.”
“When we are sitting in Satsang, we remain away from social evils. We listen to the stories of God so that we could know His likes and dislikes, we could search the way to God by bringing change in ourselves, which is the ultimate goal of this human birth,” he added.
Delivering religious sermons, Sadhvi Bhuvaneshwari Devi enlightened the gathering and said that main objective of organizing Mahayagya is to bring transformation in the society.
It may be mentioned here that a grand Shobha Yatra would be taken out on 25th December from the holy Samadhi Sathal of Shastri Ji Maharaj and the Mahayagya would conclude on 26th December with the “Purnaahuti”.
