JAMMU, Dec 16: The body of a woman was today found hanging at her residence in Gharota area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, the deceased was identified as Safia Akhter (23) wife of Mohd Yousuf, resident of Masjid Mohalla, Burn. He said that the body was found hanging this morning with the hook of the ceiling fan in her room.
“The body of the deceased was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where after completing all medico-legal formalities it was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites”, the police official said, adding, Gharota police has initiated inquest proceedings in the case.
