Two drug peddlers arrested

JAMMU, Dec 12: City police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested two drug peddlers and recovered banned syrup bottles from their possession.
As per police sources, during routine checking, a joint team from City Police Station and Residency Road Police Post laid a naka and intercepted a Maruti car bearing registration number HR30G-5301.
During checking, police recovered 30 bottles of banned syrup from the possession of two persons traveling in the car and arrested them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Fayaz Ahmed Sheikh, son of Gulam Mohammad Sheikh and Umar Nazir Rishi, son of Nazir Ahmed Rishi, both residents of District Kupwara.
A case under FIR Number 69/17 under Section 8/21/22/29 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Police Station City and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO City Inspector Vishal Sharma and assisted by Incharge Residency Road Police Post SI Sunil Singh Manhas made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Varun Jandial  and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
