Two AAOs among 4 suspended

POONCH, Oct 17: Assistant Commissioner Development  (ACD), Poonch, Zubair Hussain Shah today placed four Rural Development Department (RDD) employees, including two Assistant Accounts Officers (AAOs) under suspension.
Official sources said that taking cognizance of the public complaints regarding habitual absenteeism of the BDO office staff in the district, ACD Poonch today paid surprise visit to the office of BDO Lasana near Surankote at around 10.35 AM and found three employees absent there.
The employees who were found unauthorisedly absent from duty included- Assistant Accounts Officer-Harbinder Singh, Junior Assistant -Mohammed Ikhlaq and Class- IV employee-Mohd Rashid.
Later, the ACD paid visit to the office of BDO Haveli (Poonch) and found Assistant Accounts Officer, Mohd Shabir unauthorisedly absent from duty. The ACD was briefed by the locals of the area about habitual absenteeism of the BDO office staff and disclosed that some staff members only come to get salary or for any important work, hardly for couple of days through out the month. They do other private jobs or business and turn up in the office just for 2-3 days in the whole month.
The ACD placed all the four employees under suspension and also framed three member committee to inquire into the routine of the staff in all the BDO offices in the district taking inputs from villagers and former Panchayat members and submit a report so that departmental action could be taken against such employees.
