JAMMU, Sept 28: M Raju, Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation, has sought public support in the JMC efforts to make Jammu a smart city in real sense by keeping in clean and green.
While interacting with media persons, here today, Raju elaborated on the JMC initiatives under Swachh Bharat Mission Urban. Detailing the core components of SBM, he emphasized that without public participation, it was not possible to achieve positive results.
Raju briefed about the progress made in components like individual toilets, community toilets and prestigious Jammu smart city project. He also briefed media about the activities carried out by JMC during “Swachhta hi Sewa” fortnight and informed that a walkathon will be organized on 2nd October that will be led by Dy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh.
Senior officers of the JMC, who accompanied the Commissioner, include Rajesh Sharma, Joint Commissioner JMC; Ranjit Singh, Secratary, JMC; Meenakshi Koul, ACR JMC; Dr Anita Salgotra, Health Officer; Rakesh Gupta, Special Asstt. to Commissioner JMC; Talit Mehmood, Chief Transport Officer JMC and Rajiv Khajuria, Founder Emeritus National Development Foundation.
