KISHTWAR, Sept 21: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Angrez Singh Rana chaired Environment Clearance Committee meet for Bursar Project in village Changer, Marwah, here.
The meeting was attended by Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Marwah Sanjeev Goswami, General Manager NHPC Dul-Hasti Kishtwar PK Langer, General Manager NHPC Faridabad Syed Ali Khan, District Pollution Officer, Scientific Officer PC Board Yash Pal and large number of people from Hanzal, Dherna, Teller, Changer, Nowpachi, Qaderna and Yourdoo villages.
The people raised various issues with regard to the Burser Project and demanded that NHPC should take care of the upliftment of the area and facilities like hospital, school and electricity should be provided to them. The residents of Hanzal and Dehrna villages demanded that the height of the dam should be reduced from 2134 meters so that they may not be dislocated. DDC assured the people that their demands will be taken up with the higher authorities for redressal.
Rana also asked the NHPC authorities to initiate the process for imparting skill development trainings to the local youths so that at the time of the execution of the project, the local youth may get the jobs.
DDC also conveyed a meeting of the officers and stressed for speedy disposal of the services brought under the ambit of Public Services Guarantee Act. He also asked the officers to get the development works completed before the onset of the winter season. He called upon the supervisory officers to effectively monitor the developmental works during execution to maintain quality standard.
He also requested the employee to maintain punctuality in their officers and warned of action against those, who will be found guilty.
