JAMMU, Sept 11: A delegation of Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) led by its president, Sushil Sudan, today met with Director Health Services (DHS), Jammu and submitted a charter of demands.
Sushil Sudan during meeting with the Director, Health Services, Jammu, Dr Gurjeet Singh, apprised him of the contents of charter of demands and elaborated the difficulties that employees and patients are facing. Sudan also requested him to fix a meeting with the Health Minister, Bali Bhagat in this regard.
The main demands included in the charter of demands were transfer policy for transparency, DPC clearance of all cadres, amendment of SRO-20, filling up of vacant posts to meet shortage of staff (gazetted/non gazetted) and adequate supply to meet shortage of medicines.
Dr Gurjeet Singh gave a patient hearing to all the demands and assured the delegation for early redressal of the issues raised by it and immediately talked to the higher authorities on telephone for the early conduct of DPC. He further assured that all other demands will also be fulfilled shortly and soon a meeting will be fixed with the Health Minister.
Prominent among those who were part of the delegation include Vinod Kumar Sharma (secretary general, JKMEF), Choudhary Jarnail Singh (working president, JKGPA), Neelam Kumari (president, JK Female Multipurpose Workers Welfare Association), Pawan Singh, (president, JK Basic Health Workers’ Association), Mohd Saleem Khan (president, Ministerial Staff Welfare Associ-ation and many others.
