SRINAGAR, Sept 6: A delegation of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum, led by its chairman Abdul Qayoom Wani and State general secretary Ganesh Khajuria, called on Minister for Education, Altaf Bukhari and discussed with him some burning problems being faced by the teaching community.
The Forum leaders forcefully pleaded the case of left out promotee Masters of February 2014 -DPC of Jammu province who have been waiting for their adjustment for the last more than three and half years. The Education Minister issued on the spot instructions to the Secretary School Education for direction to the Director School Education Jammu for early adjustment of these Masters, claimed the Forum in a statement.
The other demands, which came under discussion, included the examination of untrained under-graduate teachers for D.Ed, waving off 50 percent marks eligibility bar at 10th level and deputation of untrained ‘Graduate/Post-Graduate for’ B.Ed course, issuance of timely salary grants for centrally sponsored scheme such as SSA, RMSA and early grants for Mid-Day Meal scheme, holding of DPC of all cadres and regularization of all in-charge Headmasters/ Lecturers/ Princip-als and other officers.
The Education Minister patiently listened to the grievances of the teaching community and assured that their just and genuine demands would be redressed within shortest possible time.
The other Forum members, who were present in the meeting, included Yograj Singh Slathia, Soorat Singh Toofani, Ravinder Singh, Darshan Sharma, Subhash Sharma, Manohar Kumar, Sanjay Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Chanchal Bhushan and Majeed Ahmed.
