UDHAMPUR, Sept 6: Udhampur Police today arrested a drug peddler and seized 15 gms heroin from his possession.
A Police party, led by SHO Udhampur, Inspector Sanjeev Gupta, intercepted the accused namely Tasleem Arif alias Shanu of Nardani Jammu during surprise checking near Dak Banglow. On frisking of the accused, 15 gms of Chitta (heroin) was recovered from his possession.
In this connection, a case FIR no. 416/2017 u/s 8/21 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Udhampur.
Meanwhile, in another success, Udhampur Police also seized 40 pouches of illicit liquor from a bootlegger, who was arrested near Matador stand Udhampur.
The accused has been identified as Shiv Ram Hariya of Sadyalta Ramnagar. A case FIR No. 415/2017 U/S 48 Excise Act has been registered against him at Police Station Udhampur.
