Dulhasti contractual workers serve ultimatum

KISHTWAR, July 31: Con-struction Workers Labour Union,   affiliated with CITU, has served an ultimatum to the Dulhasti Power Station management to either implement the agreement within 15 days or face indefinite strike.
Decision in this regard was taken during a meeting of the union. According to Jia Lal Parihar, president of the Union, more than 100 contractual workers participated in the meeting and voiced concern over non-enforcement of agreement on demands of the workers by the management of Dulhasti Power Station.
The demands, such as re-employment of terminated contractual worker, leave benefit as per Factory Act, job security to contract workers, to cover the workers under ESI Act etc were decided and agreed during the meeting that was held on 3rd May 2017 by the management following which the union had  decided to call off the strike.
After protracted discussion, meet decided with one voice to give 15 days notice to the management to implement the demands and if the same is not done within stipulated period of time, the workers will go on complete strike.
