JAMMU, July 30: On the pattern of top NITs of the country, online admissions are being made in the newly created University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Jammu University.
According to Prof Naresh Padha, Coordinator of UIET, admissions are being made in two Streams; Computer Science & Technology and Civil Engineering from this session. There are 60 seats in each streams, out of which six seats are being filled up on all India basis and remaining 54 are reserved for Jammu province, he added.
Admissions are being made on the basis of JEE Mains Score. However, the candidates may be admitted on the basis of their JKCET score, if need arises as the second preference.
Under make shift arrangement, the class work will be started from a suitable place and later the campus will be shifted to its allocated premises at Janglote Kathua. More number of branches will be added after shifting of UIET to its campus.
The admission applications are being received online upto 3rd August 2017 and the process will be completed before 15th of August.
