JAMMU, Oct 26: Police today arrested two persons along with 320 kilograms of forest produce ‘Kakar Singhi’ from Chowki Choura area in tehsil Akhnoor.
Police spokesman said that, police party from Chowki Choura Police Post laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AG-1839.
During checking, police recovered 320 kilograms of ‘Kakar Singhi’, a forest produce used for making medicine and arrested two persons Ravi Kumar, son of Natha Ram of Taryath, Rajouri and Chaman Lal, son of Vidhi Chand of Kalakote.
He added that the forest produce could not be transported without permission from Forest Department and the arrested persons have no permission.
A case under FIR number 243/12 under Section 6/39, 15/16 Forest Act has been registered at Chowki Choura Police Station and investigation started.
The arrest was made by police party from Chowki Choura Police Post led by SI Joginder Singh, under the supervision of SHO Akhnoor Mahesh Sharma and SDPO Akhnoor.
