JAMMU, July 2: The 22nd Prof G Ram Reddy Memorial Lecture was organized at the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Convention Centre, IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi.
The lecture was organized in memory of Prof G Ram Reddy, who was the architect of Distance Education and father of open learning in India. He was the first Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi National Open University. In order to commemorate the legendary educationist and founder Vice Chancellor of IGNOU, Prof. G. Ram Reddy Memorial Lecture was instituted by IGNOU in 1996 and is held on 2nd July every year.
Prof. M Jagadesh Kumar, Vice Chancellor, JNU, was chief guest on the occasion while Prof Y Vaikuntham, former Vice Chancellor, Kakatiya University, Telangana, presented the lecture.
The Regional Centre Jammu functionaries watched the programme which was available through webcast.
