JAMMU, June 26: The Government today constituted a Committee headed by Dheeraj Gupta, Commissioner/Secretary, Power Development Department to ascertain reasons behind cable car (Gondola) accident at tourist resort of Gulmarg yesterday in which seven persons including four tourists were killed.
Other members of the Committee included Shoban Kumar Zutshi, Chief Engineer, System and Operations, Jammu and Vijay Raina, Superintending Engineer (Mechanical), SKIMS, Srinagar, an official order issued today by the General Administration Department said.
It said the Committee has been asked to make suitable recommendations with regard to u-gradation of existing maintenance arrangements and additional safety measures required for the operations of Cable Car at Gulmarg to prevent such an accident in future.
The Committee will ascertain the cause of accident, the Order said, adding it will submit its report to the Government within a period of 15 days.
