JAMMU, June 4: Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC) president, Pranav Shagotra, today said that PDP-BJP regime has failed on all fronts and legalizing corruption as well as thriving transfer industry are the only achievements of BJP ministers.
Addressing a protest organized by Jatinder Singh Chib, PYC secretary and Gandhi Nagar Assembly office bearers at Channi Himmat area, Shagotra said during its tenure of more than two years this regime stands exposed as it has reneged on all promises made with the people during campaign for the assembly elections,
Slogan shouting activists of Youth Congress burnt effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for failure of both Center and State governments in solving people’s problems. They also burnt effigy of local MLA, Kavinder Gupta, for ignoring people’s issues.
“Tall claims of the Government especially BJP ministers to accelerate development activities and taking revolutionary steps for the betterment of the common masses remained confined only on papers and nothing visible on the ground”, he said while pointing towards non availability of basic amenities at Gandhi Nagar and adjoining localities of Jammu.
He, however, said that one and only noticeable achievement of BJP ministers in the coalition is legalization of corruption and patronizing transfer industry in the State. “How can one expect civic amenities in the city when Commissioner of Jammu Municipal Corporation has changed five times during the last two years?”, he pointed out and alleged that transfers are being made in open auction system.
“Casual approach of the State Government can be gauged from the fact that farmers, employees, technocrats, unemployed educated youth, students have been agitating in one way or other but the ruling elites seems to be unconcerned towards growing unrest among different sections of the society. This is very dangerous trend and it would be proved disastrous for the peace of the State”, he cautioned.
Those present in the protest were Jatinder Chib and Aijaz Choudhary (PYC secretaries), Hoshiar Singh Chib and others.
