LEH, (Ladakh) June 2: Nimoo Bazgo Power Station, one of the units of NHPC Ltd, a Government of India Undertaking which is located in one of the coldest and most elevated inhabited regions of the world, organized a Sammelan on “Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas’’ at Indoor Stadium, here on Thursday. The enthusiasm and passion of employees of NHPC Ltd working and performing under such harsh climatic conditions is an example in itself.
Member of Parliament of Ladakh Thupstan Chhewang was the chief guest in the programme. This event was also graced by Bali Bhagat, Minister for Health and Medical Education. The Chief Executive Councillor of LAHDC Dr Sonam Dawa Lonpo was guest of honour and the stage was also shared by the Executive councilors of Leh and district president, BJP Tsewang Gonbo. Apart from the large members of local public, the district administration, officials of army and paramilitary were present too.
The programme started with welcome speech of S. Adhikari, Chief Engineer, Nimmo Bazgo Power Station, S Adhikari and felicitation of the guests on the stage. The audience was shown a short movie of 10 minutes highlighting therein the work of Central Government in the last three years. The local artists of Leh gave their presentation in the event which was enjoyed by the audience.
In their speech the Executive Councilor Mumtaz Hussain, CEC Dr Sonam Dawa Lonpo, MP Thupstan Chhewang and the Health and Medical Education Minister, Bali Bhagat described the achievements of the Central Government in the past three years and the future programmes for the welfare of the State.
Later the MP and Minister also briefed the press. They also assured that Ladakh will not be ignored by the Government and will get its due share.
