NEW DELHI: Opposing the Nawaz Sharif Government move to make Gilgit-Baltistan fifth province of Pakistan, the Kashmiri Pandits United Forum (KPUF) today staged a protest and handed over a memorandum to the officials of the Pakistan High Commission in this regard.
The memorandum, while stating that Pakistan had no locus standi to make any change in its status, said, “Any change in the status of Gilgit-Baltistan will be a provocative step on behalf of Pakistan which will not be tolerated by the people of J&K at any cost. Gilgit-Baltistan is and will remain part of J&K”. (AGENCIES)
