JAMMU, Apr 10: All J&K Graduate Engineers Association, Civil held a meeting with Commissioner Secretary R&B Department Rohit Kansal and discussed the issues.
A memorandum of burning issues of graduate engineers was handed over to Commissioner Secretary for redressal.
During the meeting, threadbare and point wise discussion were made on the burning issues which include release of running grades, regularization and confirmation of services of engineers at all levels from AE to Chief Engineer with one time relaxation, filling up of all the vacant posts from Assistant Engineer to Chief Engineer strictly as per J&K Engineering Gazetted Service Rules, rejecting of proposal of frequent changing of service rules including qualifying service bar, enhancing of fixed traveling allowance for JEs from Rs 30 to Rs 5000 per month, making a provision of FTA in the favour of Assistant Executive Engineers as Rs 7000 per month, empowerment of the post of Development Commissioner Works at par with PDD, creation of posts of new circles, divisions and sub divisions in newly created districts, implementation of Supreme Court judgment for placement of Superintending Engineers in pay band-4, review of engineering cadre, granting of in-situ promotion in the favour of serving engineers as an interim relief on the pattern of PHE and I&FC Department and other allied issues.
Commissioner Secretary assured the delegation that all the discussed burning issues of graduate engineers will be redressed in shortest possible time and result oriented outcome will be delivered within days. He accepted one time exemption of submission of APRs and regularization of services of engineers on the basis of work and conduct certificate from HODs was also agreed upon.
Among others present were Er Mujib Tak, State President, Er Gandeep Pargal, State General Secretary, Er Ashok Tandon, Er Sajad Wani, Er Rajinder Sharma, Er Gopal Sharma, Er Brahmjyoti, Er Arafat Masud, Er Ajay Talwar, Er ZA Malik, Er Kulbhushan Bhau and Er Anil Thappa.
