MENDHAR, Mar 22: The police seized 1400 capsules of toxic nature and one kilogram and 50 gms weed (Ganja) and recovered two drug-peddlers in this connection in Mendhar area.
In continuation to the drive against drugs menace launched by District police Poonch on the directions of SSP, Rajiv Pandy, a Police party from Police Station Mendhar headed by SDPO Mendhar, DySP Shahid Nahiem, raided a Medical shop belonging to one Shabir Ahmad Mir, son of Mohd Sadiq, resident of Dhargloon located at Main Bazaar Mendhar and recovered 1400 banned capsules.
The consignment was seized on the spot and in this connection, a case FIR No. 49/2017 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at PS Mendhar. More recoveries/arrests are expected in this case.
Meanwhile, Mendhar Police nabbed a drug-peddler and during search police recovered weed (Ganja) weighing about 1 kg 50 grams concealed in 201 small packets from the possession of one Subash Kumar, son of Chandi Ram, resident of Sirsa Haryana.
The accused person was arrested on the spot and a case FIR No 48/2017 was registered under NDPS Act against him. The police was looking for his two associates.
