UDHAMPUR, Dec 30: Police today foiled two separate attempts of liquor smuggling and seized 118 pouches of illicit liquor besides arresting 2 bootleggers, here today.
A Police team from Police Station Chenani intercepted one person who was travelling on foot near Samroli National Highway. During thorough search of that suspicious person, 80 pouches of illicit liquor were recovered from his possession. Police seized the liquor and also arrested the accused, identified as Chain Singh son of Inder Singh of village Ladan.
In a separate case, Police arrested another bootleggers when he was carrying illicit liquor near Mini Bus Stand, Udhampur. 38 pouches of illicit liquor were recovered from his possession. Police seized the liquor and arrested the accused, namely Kewal of Sadyalta Udhampur.
