JAMMU, Nov 27: Group of farmers, working in integrated farming system mode with SKUAST- Jammu, were flagged off today for attending the Northern Regional Agricultural fair (Krishi Kumb 2016) at Muzaffarnagar (UP), organized by ICAR-IIFSR, Modipuram. The main theme of the Krishi Kumb is “Tikkau Kheti- Khushhaal Kisan”.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Dilip Kachroo, Cheif Scientist and Registrar of SKUAST-Jammu, informed the farmers that each one of the group, associated with the university, should adopt and establish the IFS model developed by the scientists of this university at their farms.
Dr J P Sharma, Director Research, enlightened the farmers that university was having a primary goal to work hand in globe with the farmers so that the technologies generated are to be adopted.
Dr Ashok Gupta, Sr Scientist and Incharge OFR programme, highlighted the theme of the Krishi Kumb 2016. Gulam Mohd., J K Baru, Dheeraj and A W Katoch, Field Assistants, were also present on the occasion.
