MENDHAR, Nov 24: Alleging distribution of ration among shelling victims in Mendhar Sub-Division on partisan political considerations, MLA Mendhar, Javed Ahmed Rana, today condemned the attempts by local PDP unit to restrict relief distribution in the form of ration to particular areas.
“One didn’t expect them to stoop so low at a time when the people of Mendhar especially those living along the LoC are facing great inconvenience”, Rana said.
The MLA who has recently been touring several forward areas of Mankote tehsil was surprised to note inadequate ration distribution among villagers affected by shelling on LoC. The villagers told the MLA that local PDP leaders are influencing the authorities for distribution of ration in particular areas.
Besides expressing solidarity with the villagers in forward areas, Rana also took stock of public services delivery and development works. The MLA expressed dissatisfaction at the state of affairs of PDD and PHE Departments in Mendhar Sub Division.
“The power and water supply in Mendhar particularly in forward areas has collapsed”, he said while urging the Government to intervene and restore these basic amenities to the hapless villagers. He also appealed the Government to start construction of concrete bunkers at the earliest.
Rana, meanwhile, lamented continuous display of violence on LoC by India and Pakistan and urged the leadership of both the countries to stop butchering the innocent civilians along LoC and enforce the 2003 ceasefire agreement.
