Launch massive drive to eradicate menace of drugs from society: IGP to officers

JAMMU, Nov 23: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone Danesh Rana directed the officers to launch a massive drive to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society which has captured young generation and take strict action against the persons involved in the crime.
He stated this during a meeting in Tekri Gurdwara, Simbal Camp, Miran Sahibm.  IGP was accompanied by SSP Jammu Dr Sunil Gupta and SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal.
In the meeting, more than 700 citizens representing all segments of the society including Advocates, Sarpanchs, Panchs, Numberdars, Market Association leaders, business community of the area took part.
The participants in the meeting highlighted their problems and also gave many valuable suggestions.
IGP Jammu assured that they will look into the problems highlighted and will provide required solution at the earliest.
IGP requested the participants to respect the law of the land and help the department of police in prevention and detection of crime. He added that J&K Police has taken various programmes to prevent the drug menace from the society and special focus on the development of the youth by involving them in sports activities and community issues.
IGP also exhorted upon them to maintain the peace in the area and help police to get the timely information about any suspicious movements.
Danesh Rana directed SDPO RS Pura, all SHOs, Incharge BPPs and other supervising officers of Sub-Division RS Pura to launch a massive drive to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society which has captured young generation. He also directed them to take strict action against the persons involved in the crime.
The participants ensured to extend their support to police in prevention and detection of crime by providing timely information about the bad elements in the society.
