GIMET becomes youngest college in Punjab to get NAAC Accreditation

JAMMU, Nov 10: With the prestigious NAAC Accreditation, Global Institute of Management and Emerging Technologies, Amritsar (GIMET), has achieved a milestone in a short span since its commencement.
National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), an autonomous body of University Grants Commission, Government of India, granted accreditation to the GIMET- established 8-years back in the city, making GIMET the youngest of all Colleges in Punjab to be NAAC Accredited.
The NAAC Peer Team, of four educationalists visited GIMET Campus on 6th to 8th September this year, for validation of the Institution’s Self-Study Report (SSR). The team members visited all departments, inspected facilities, interacted with the alumni, parents, faculty and students separately to make an in-depth qualitative assessment of major aspects of teaching – learning process in GIMET.
Jubilant over grant of the prestigious accreditation, the Chairman of the Global Institutes Amritsar Dr BS Chandi said, “It was a 360 degree evaluation of Institution of higher education and its objective was to bring Indian Education System at par with World Standards”.
While congratulating all stakeholders, including the Director Dr. Rajesh Goel, on this significant achievement, Vice Chairman of GIA, Dr Akashdeep Singh, maintained that success is a fruit of patience and sincerity of purpose for desired goals. This approach brought a rich harvest of laurels every year to GIMET, which was also granted the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) accreditation this year. He further added that NAAC accreditation was based on seven point criteria that include- “Promotion of Research, Resource Mobilization for Research, Research Facilities, Research Publications and Awards, Consultancy, Extension Activities and Institutional Social Responsibility Collaborations.”
The NAAC peer team members expressed satisfaction with the rapid qualitative growth of GIMET and suggested a number of initiatives in pursuit of excellence in the ongoing process.
