Sunil lays foundation stone of link roads

KISHTWAR, Oct 4: Minister of State for Transport, PWD (R&B), Revenue, Rural development and Panchayati Raj, Sunil Sharma, today visited Palmar area of district Kishtwar and laid foundation stone for several links roads.
The Minister laid foundation stone of 2 km long link road from Telan to Hari to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.410.80 lakh under NABARD scheme.  He also laid foundation stone for 2 other roads including a 3km link road from Harid to Wassar to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.373.93 lakh and 2 km stretch link road from Bhatta Palmar to Telmal to be constructed with an estimated cost of Rs.374.34 lakh.
During his visit to the area, the Minister held a public grievances redressal camp at Higher Secondary School Bhatta and took stock of various facilities being provided to the students there.
The people of Bhatta Palmar and adjoining areas apprised the Minister of various problems and demands regarding supply of drinking water, repair of electric lines, adequate power supply, installation of solar lights, black topping of roads and availability of ration throughout the year etc.
The people also demanded opening of much awaited Jawahar Navodyala School in the area besides construction of new school building for HSS Bhatta.
The staff of HSS Palmar requested the Minister to take up the issue of starting  SRTC bus service in the area.
Responding to the demand of road maintenance, Sunil Sharma informed the public that the Government has sanctioned Rs 37 crore for macadamization of 18 km long  Bhandarkote – Palmar road. He further assured the completion of various ongoing road works besides its maintenance by the concerned agencies.
The Minister announced installation of solar lights in the area soon.
Later, Sharma announced Rs. 2 lakh for development of HSS Bhatta, out of his CDF.
