JAMMU, Oct 3: With a view to preserve the fading traditional, culture and rituals of the pluralistic culture of our State in visuals, Evaquee Property Department in Collaboration with Kala Kendra Jammu organised a National level Painters Camp at V R Khajuria Sculpture Studio, Kala Kendra.
Soujanya Sharma, Director Local Bodies and Secretary Kala Kendra inaugurated the camp, coordinated by well known painter Rohit Verma amidst artist fraternity.
A total number of 12 painters are participating in the camp who included Yogesh Kasera, Vijay Anand, Rohit Verma, Sat Paul Deol, Suresh Sharma, Rakesh Kumar, Manoj Chopra, Sahil Ohri, Renu Bala, Jaswinder Singh, Rahul Dogra and Ajay Kumar.
Speaking on the occasion, Soujanya Sharma disclosed that apart from contemporary camps, we initiated this camp with nuance where academically trained and skill oriented painters are invited to do work on folk marriage format of our pluralistic culture of the State to acquaint the coming generation with their rich legacy of yesteryears. Camp has been organized with special emphasis aimed at striking communal harmony in the State, which is need of hour in this time. The camp will conclude on October 5.
