AVP holds meet, discusses demands

Jammu, Sept 13: Continuing its campaign against caste-based discrimination, a meeting of Aarakshan Virodhi Party (AVP) was organized by the local residents of the area at Bhagwan Parshu Ram Temple, Purkhoo.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Satpal Sharma in which members of the central working committee including Ram Pal Seth, president , Madan Lal Narad general secretary, Yash Pal Sanson, general secretary AVMJ and Som Nath Sharma, vice president and Bhushan Pargal , secretary of the AVMJ participated.
In the meeting, a detail discussion was held on the evil effects of reservation which has been discriminating the general category people including Hindu, Muslims, Sikhs and others addressing the meeting participants strongly condemned the increase of creamy layer’s annual income from 6 lakh to 8 lakh as it is great injustice to the people of general category who pay income tax, having annual income of Rs 250000.
The Government for its vote bank politics tax the less income group and pay scholarships and other economic facilities to the higher income group. The speakers condemned the Government for ignoring the poor, needy and deserving general category.
A resolution was passed with one voice demanding total abolition of all types of reservation to promote national unity. Reservation is a bomb which is likely to explode any time and cause unrest in the country. It was stressed that financial support instead of reservation to be given to all on the basis of their economic condition.
The meeting was attended by Kishore Sharma, Kewal Krishan Sharma, Yog Raj Singh, Kuldeep Sharma, Kulbir Singh, Balbir Singh, Narinder Sharma , Raghubir Singh Manhas, Bhanu Partap singh, Naginder Manhas, Jagan Singh, Akash Gupta, Ved Khajuria, Ashok Sharma, Karan Singh , Shamsher Singh, Prabhakar Shastri, Pushakar Nath Khajuria, Satish Kumar , Tilak Raj Sharma, Yash Pal Singh, Rachhpal Singh and others.
