Central, State Govt Deptts celebrate Independence Day with patriotic fervour

JAMMU, Aug 16: 70th Independence Day was celebrated by various Central and State Government departments with patriotic fervour.
Independence Day was celebrated at JK House, Prithvi Raj Road, New Delhi. Principal Resident Commissioner, Rakesh Kumar Gupta unfurled the National Flag. A contingent of Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police presented the Guard of Honour. The function was attended by all the officers and officials of Jammu and Kashmir, posted at New Delhi. Later, Gupta interacted with the officers and officials of the JK House and gave special gifts and commendation certificates to the participants.
Income tax Department celebrated the ‘Independence Day’ and organized functions at various places in the State of Jammu and Kashmir where its offices are functioning. Sangeeta Gupta, Principal Commissioner of Income tax, Jammu and unfurled the National flag at Aayakar Bhawan, Jammu. Similar functions were also held at Income tax offices of Kathua, Samba, Katra, Srinagar, Anantnag and Baramulla.
Independence Day was celebrated at Income Tax Office, Udhampur where the National Flag was unfurled by Income Tax Officer, Madan Lal Dogra. The welcome address was given by Vijay Choudhary, Inspector, followed by National Anthem. The function was attended by Rajeev Gupta, President Income Tax Bar Association along with its members, Ravi Malguria, President Chamber of Commerce, Surinder Khalsa, President Beopar Mandal, Joginder Verma, President Swarnkar Association and Jatinder Vermani, President Karyana Association. A number of patriotic songs were played on the music system which enthralled the gathering. Children added grace to the occasion, who were welcomed with sweets and chocolates.
Radio Kashmir Jammu celebrated Independence Day. Station Head, DDG (E) KK Singh unfurled the National Flag in the presence of staff and their family members. Programme head SK Malhotra and other staff members from all the wings were present on the occasion. Former Station Director VK Sambyal also attended the celebrations. A plantation drive was organized on the occasion. RKJ had started celebrations from August 13 when a Sangeet Sandhya was organised at Abhinav Theatre Jammu.
Independence Day was celebrated by Dulhasti Power Station and Bursar HE Project at Kendriya Vidyalaya premises, Kishtwar wherein a large number of employees, CISF personnel, their family member and school children participated. Harish Bulchandani, Chief Engineer (Civil), Dulhasti Power Station was the chief guest who unfurled the National Tricolor. The programme was attended by Commandant CISF, Principal Kendriya Vidyalaya and distinguished person of the area. The programme concluded with prizes distribution ceremony.
70th Independence Day was celebrated with traditional fervour and patriotism at Katra. The main function at Katra was held at the Shrine Board’s Sports Complex, where Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, hoisted the tricolour and took salute at an impressive march-past by the contingents drawn from CRPF, NCC Boys and Girls, Scouts and Guides, besides the students of various educational institutions. The students of various educational institutions presented a colourful cultural programme. Sahu gave away prizes to the students who were adjudged best in the march-past and presentation of cultural programme. Among those present on the occasion were Dr Piyush Singla and Dr MK Kumar, Additional Chief Executive Officers, SMVDSB, SK Mishra, Commandant, CRPF 6th Bn, Neelam Khajuria, SDM, Katra, Sumir Kotwal, Additional SP, Katra, senior civil and police officers, prominent citizens, heads of various educational institutions, officers and staff of the Shrine Board, large number of people of the area, teachers, school children and the pilgrims. Ajeet Kumar Sahu also unfurled the tricolour at a function held at Central Office of the Shrine Board at Katra. The National Flag was also hoisted at Bhawan and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Kakryal. At Bhawan, Jagdish Singh, SDM hoisted the tricolour, while at the Superspeciality Hospital, Dr (Brig) Man Mohan Harjai, Chief Administrative Officer, SMVDNSH unfurled the tricolour. Dr SP Singh, CEO, NVDSHPL and other medicos and staff were present. Similarly, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi College of Nursing, Kakryal also celebrated the Independence Day.
Cantonment Board Office, Jammu Cantt celebrated 70th Independence Day. National Flag was hoisted within the Office premises. Irfan Hafiz, CEO, Cantonment Board Office and Jatinder Singh, Vice President, Cantonment Board Office addressed the people present during the event. Board members, office staff, Doctors of GB Pant Cantt General Hospital, Hospital Staff were also present during the event.
POWERGRID Northern Region Transmission System-II celebrated 70th Independence Day. Flag hoisting, cultural programmes, blood donation and organ donation camps were organized at all its establishments across the region. At its Regional Headquarters, Grid Bhawan, Jammu. Anil Jain, Executive Director, NRTS-II was the chief guest, who unfurled the National Flag in presence of senior officials, Anju Jain, President Shrishti Mahila Samiti, employees, their families and children. Various cultural programmes were presented by members of Shristi Mahila Samiti and children. Reports of Independence Day celebrations at all site offices in the Region comprising J&K, HP, Punjab, Haryana and UT Chandigarh also poured in.
70th Independence Day was celebrated in Nimoo Bazgo Power Station, NHPC Limited with great enthusiasm. Suprakash Adhikari, Head of the Power Station hoisted the National Flag in the office campus. All office staff, security personnel and villagers were present on this event. Children of nearby schools preformed cultural programme. Later, Adhikari distributed prize to school children.
70th Independence Day was celebrated by NHPC at its Regional Office, Jammu. A large number of employees and CISF personnel participated. On the occasion, Yoginder Kotha, Chief Engineer hoisted the tricolor.
Salal Power Station celebrated 70th Independence Dat at Ramlila Ground, Jyotipuram, wherein a large number of employees, CISF personnel, their family members, school children and locals participated. AG Ansari, General Manager, Salal Power Station was the chief guest, who unfurled the National Flag. Cultural programme was presented by students of KV and Playway School. The progamme concluded with prize distribution.
Department of Agriculture, Jammu celebrated the 70th Independence Day at Krishi Bhawan, Talab Tillo. The programme was organized jointly by All J&K Agriculture Officers Welfare Forum, J&K Agriculture Employees Association and Non-Gazetted Agriculture Graduate Association. On the occasion, Director Agriculture Jammu, Sudesh Koul hoisted the National Flag. A large number officers and employees of Agriculture Department participated in the function. Ashok Malhotra, Joint Director of Agriculture (Extension), CM Sharma, Deputy Director (Central), Jammu, KK Sharma, SMS, Rajesh Gandotra, General Secretary, AJKAOWF, Pardeep Sharma, President, NGAGA, Uttam Chand Sharma, President, J&K Agriculture Employees Association and Surinder Radotra, President, JKATA also expressed their views. The vote of thanks was presented by Amrik Singh, Chairman, JKAEA.
70th Independence Day was celebrated at Police Transport Workshop, Jammu. Ranjit Singh Sambyal, SSP, Police Transport Workshop, Jammu unfurled the National Flag, followed by National Anthem. Fafiz Ullah, DySP, Central Police Petrol Pump, Jammu and Javid Iqbal Naaz, DySP, Police Transport Workshop Jammu were also present. On the occasion, Sambyal announced cash reward along with Commendation Certificate Class-III to the deserving officers/officials for their hard work and dedication towards their duties.
Independence Day was celebrated at Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI), Vijaypur. Ranjit Kanwar, SSP, Principal, PTTI Vijaypur presided over the function and unfurled the National Flag in presence of Ram Singh Jamwal, DySP Admn, Satish Chander, DySP Tech, Puran Chand, DySP Estates, Riaz Ahmed, SrPO, teachers of GMS Thalori, students, prominent citizens, locals and retired police personnel. During the function, contingents of police personnel and trainers held march past. Exhibition sports events and cultural programme were held on the occasion. The programme ended with prize distribution.
Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Jammu North Anvy Lavasa hoisted the National Flag during Independence Day function at Government Higher Secondary School, Bhalwal. Tehsildar Jammu North Dr Javed Iqbal Rather, BDO Bhalwal Neha Sharma, ZEO Bhalwal Ratni Pandita, Principals of various Government institutions, officials from various Government departments, ex-sarpanchs and panchs, students and local people were also present on the occasion. Students presented various items including dance items, speeches, skits, etc. the function ended with presentation of trophies to all the participating schools.
70th Independence Day was celebrated at GHSS Boys Bhadarwah, where SDM Bhadarwah Mohammad Anwar Banday was the chief guest, who hoisted the Tricolour and took salute from themarch pass squads of JKAP personnel, NCC cadets of HSS Boys Bhadarwah, GDC Bhadarwah, Government and private school children. A colourful cultural programme depicting the rich cultural heritage of the Bhadarwah was also presented by the school children. MLC Naresh Kumar Gupta, Rector Bhadarwah Campus Prof GM Bhat, ASP Bhadarwah Sargun Shukla, SDPO Bhadarwah Sajjad Ahmed Khan and Tehsildar Bhadarwah Dr Amir Hussain, BDO Tahir Malik, AEE PHE, BMO, Principal Annie Kotwal, SHO Bhaderwah Anuroop Sharma, Sajjad Sarmadi, Abdul Haq, Arif Rana and officers of different departments were also present on the occasion. While speaking, MLC Naresh Kumar Gupta gave Rs 21,000 to organising committee for the refreshment of all participants.
Mendhar celebrated the Independence Day with patriotic fervour and zeal. The celebrations marked unfurling of the National Flag by SDM Mendhar Sheer Singh in the premises of GBHSS, Mendhar, followed by National Anthem. Tiny tots and students of various educational institutions attired in tricolour dresses sang patriotic songs. Contingents from Jammu and Kashmir Police, NCC and students of different schools participated in the march past which was followed by cultural programme.
To commemorate Independence Day, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Dr Manmohan Singh, hoisted the National Flag at Jammu Municipal Corporation, Town Hall Complex, Jammu and also presented certificates to the Officers/Officials of different wings of JMC for their meritorious services rendered by them during the year 2016. Among others Joint Commissioner (A) RS Jamwal, Joint Commissioner (W) Kushal Chand, Special Asstt to Commissioner, Rakesh Chander Gupta, Health Officer, Dr Saleem Khan, Municipal Veterinary Officer, Dr Zaffar Iqbal, Chief Transport Officer, Talat Mehmood Khan, Chief Khilafwarzi Officer, Rajesh Gupta, Executive Engineers and other staff from the Corporation were present on the occasion.
Independence Day was celebrated in Central Jail, Kot Bhalwal, wherein Superintendent of the Jail Dinesh Sharma unfurled the National Flag. On the occasion, a cultural programme was presented by jail inmates. Senior Medical officer, Medical Officer, Commandant, CRPF, CRPF personnel and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
Independence Day was celebrated in District Jail, Jammu. On the occasion, National Flag was hoisted by Javid Masood Fazli, Senior Superintendent Jail. The programme was witnessed by CRPF personnel, jail officers, jawans and jail inmates.
70th Independence Day was celebrated at District Jail, Udhampur. Superintendent, District Jail, Udhampur Harish Kotwal unfurled the National Falg. The Guard of Honour was presented by CRPF personnel. Colourful cultural programme was presented by jail inmates.
To commemorate Independence Day, Superintendent, Sub Jail Hiranagar Lazar Kandayaray unfurled the National Flag in the jail premises in presence of jail and CRPF officers/ officials. A cultural progamme was organized among the jail inmates.
National Flag was unfurled by Hilal Ahmad Rather, Superintendent of Central Jail, Srinagar in the jail premises to mark 70th Independence Day. Deputy Superintendent (S), Assistant Superintendents and all Prison staff of Central Jail, Srinagar alongwith CRPF personnel posted in Central Jail, Srinagar were present on the occasion.
