SAMBA, Aug 13: Vaishno Group of Colleges today organized their 7th job fair in collaboration with Bari Brahmana Industries Associ-ation, at their Bari Brahmana office.
Several renowned companies like Ericson, Eicher, Intex, Uflex, Zenus Group and STC Technologies participated in the event and selected more than 300 students. Various companies conducted several rounds of interviews. Many students received on spot offer letters while some of the students have to appear for the final interview scheduled at the company’s head office.
The college has tie up with 100 plus MNC’s and has been able to provide jobs to many students of college as well as other colleges. Hence, the College has been ranked No.1 for Best Placements.
Managing Directors of Vaishno Group of Colleges, Varun Gupta and Rahul Pathania congratulated the candidates for their placement.
Earlier, the event was inaugurated by Minister of Industry and Commerce (J&K), Chander Prakash Ganga, who was the chief guest. The Director Industries & Commerce, Rajinder Singh Tara, General Manager, Industries & Commerce, VK Behnal and General Manager (SIDCO), Vikram Gupta, YS Jamwal, SHO Bari Brahmana, also graced the occasion.
While speaking on the occasion, Ganga said that several new industrial units are coming up in the State which will help to create ample job opportunities for the local youth. The Minister said that the Government has laid special focus on skill development programmes so that the local youth would get suitable jobs.
“Efforts for developing the industrial infrastructure are underway and land bank for the establishment of new units in the State has been created” he informed and added that Government has decided to give preference and encourage women entrepreneurs who are willing to establish business units in the State.
