JAMMU: A fresh batch of Amarnath Yatra will leave from here as closed Jammu-Srinagar national highway has been thrown open for vehicular movement, police here today said.
“The Amarnath Yatra was suspended from here due to heavy rains that triggered landslide thus blocking the Jammu-Srinagar national highway,” police spokesperson here said.
He said that the road was cleared last night but this early morning it again got blocked due to fresh landslide in Kheri area of Udhampur for a brief period, adding, “landslide hit area has been cleared and the vehicles are allowed to proceed.”
He said that a fresh batch of Amarnath Yatra will also leave from Jammu to the Kashmir Valley as vehicles are smoothly plying on the highway towards Kashmir Valley. (AGENCIES)
