SRINAGAR, Sept 17: Ellaquai Dehati Bank (EDB) organized credit cum awareness camp about Kissan Credit Card at Pushkreri in Anantnag district to give a boost to agriculture and horticulture sector and to reach out to the people living in far flung areas.
Chairman of the Bank A K Razdan inaugurated the camp and a large number of farmers attended it.
Speaking at the camp, Mr Razdan said that the people of the area should take full advantage of various schemes of the Bank. He said that the Bank is offering agriculture production credit at 7 % rate of interest only and so far has disbursed about Rs.18 crore to the farmers in Region. He said that all the business units of the Bank are working on CBS platform and the Bank is providing remittance facilities to its customers through NEFT and urged the people to take full advantage of these facilities.
Chairman counseled the youth present in the camp to take benefit of the schemes of the Bank especially designed for the unemployed. He said that the CD Ratio of the Bank in Anantnag is 86% which is mainly due to the agriculture credit.
Earlier welcoming the farmers to the camp Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, Regional Manager Region II explained various schemes of the Bank and stressed upon them to come forward and avail benefits of the Bank’s tailor made schemes for their overall economic development.
S A Qureshi, General Manager apprised the farmers about implementation and benefits of Kissan Credit Card.
Sadar Auqaf Akoora, Nazir Ahmad in his address said that Ellaquai Dehati Bank served the people of the area during the turbulence period.
126 KCC sanction letters worth Rs 87 lakh were distributed at the camp by the chairman.
