SRINAGAR, Apr 4: Army today said it provided much needed aid and relief to the flood affected Biamah village in Ladakh Division which was ravaged by flash floods last year in July.
“The noble ceremony was presided by General Officer Commanding the ‘Forever In Ops’ Division who distributed relief and construction material to the affected families of Biamah whose major part of the habitat was washed away in the flash floods,” a defence spokesman said here.
He said the relief material comes as a huge boon to this remote village in Khaltsi sub division located on the bank of River Indus whose population subsists mainly on scanty agriculture. “This initiative by the Army reinforces its commitment to help and support the civil population of the country and harmoniously progress on the path of peace and development,” he said.
