JAMMU, Mar 14: JK Pollution Control Centers Union (JKPCCU) has demanded revocation of the order issued by the Pollution Control Department recently as the same will force the license holders to close their business.
In a statement issued here today president of Union for Kashmir province Pervez Ahmed Mir said that order has many ambiguities and it does not suit to the interests of the people running the Pollution Control Centers in Kashmir Valley.
He said as the order has made it mandatory for a unit holder to have an AC fitted in the Centre which is not needed in Kashmir where the temperature does not exceed to 36 degrees. Even people in Valley do not feel need of using fans as the climate in Kashmir is temperate.
Mir said the pollution control centre holders have been issued licenses by the authorities as per rules and norms and they have no such income to afford the luxurious gadgets in their units. He said there are 150 families linked to this trade in the Valley and the rules applicable in Delhi can’t be justified in Kashmir as the climate of two places varies a lot. Moreover in Delhi the pollution certificate is needed after a gap of three months while in Kashmir it is needed after a gap of six months, he added.
