Jammu, Mar 14: Terming better Indo-Pak relations important for peace and stability in sub continent, former Minister and senior PDP leader Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali today said that people of J&K are eying on the output of SAARC meeting in Nepal and they aspire resolution of Kashmir issue in a peaceful manner between two nations.
In a statement issued here, Zulfkar said that Foreign Secretaries of India and Pakistan are likely to meet during Pokhara SAARCH meet in Nepal and resumption of talks between two powers of South Asia is good sign for moving ahead on the path of peace and development in the South Asian nation. He hoped smooth talks between S Jaishankar and his Pakistani counterpart Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhary in Pokhara, Nepal .
Expressing pleasure over bridging of gaps between two neighbours, Zulfkar said that an Indo-Pak relation directly affects people of Jammu and Kashmir who want peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue . He said that people of Jammu & Kashmir have faced burnt of irritation between New Delhi and Islamabad and both countries must sit and resolve every issue on the table.
He said that during Indo-Pakistan wars, people of J&K were most affected and they always faced miseries due to hostile atmosphere on the borders and LoC. He said that people of Poonch and Rajouri were also worst sufferer due to aggressive attitude of neighbours and they have lost everything due to this relationship.
Pressing upon both countries to move ahead on resolution of Kashmir issue, Zulfkar said that since core issue between two sides is Kashmir so both countries must move forward in the direction of resolving this long pending issue.
Expressing satisfaction over continuing of Comprehensive Composite dialogue, Zulfkar said that dialogue is the only option to move ahead. He said that neither gun nor raising of eyebrows from both sides can help in settlement of any issue.
