JAMMU, Feb 1: As a part of its awareness campaign, Panthers Party activists today organised a rally in Amphalla, New Plot and Janipur area today.
Raising slogans of “Panthers Laao..Jammu Pradesh Sashakt Banaao”, hundreds of NPP activists assembled at Ambphalla Chowk here and took out an impressive public awareness campaign, led by Harsh Dev Singh, chairman of the party along with other party leaders. While distributing pamphlets (describing the achievements of the party) to the local residents, pedestrians, traders, shopkeepers and businessmen the rally passed through the lanes of Ambphalla bazaar, Mian Dido Chowk, New Plot, Arorian Di Chappari, Patoli Morh, Court Road and finally it culminated at Main stop, Janipur.
While addressing the people, Harsh Dev Singh said that the people of Jammu region had voted BJP to power with a overwhelming mandate in the last Assembly elections. But unfortunately, none of the Saffron party MLAs could rake up the voice of the people in the Assembly which has immensely dented Dogra pride and honour. He alleged that BJP surrendered all the Jammu related issues before the Kashmiri leaders only for the lust of power where as JKNPP is the only party which had been persistently fighting for the cause of Jammu people.
The NPP had been fighting for the issues pertaining to restoration of AIIMS to Jammu, Smart City for Jammu, regularization of services of daily wagers and contractual employees, regularization of services and release of salaries of ReT teachers, temporary teachers, SPOs, NYC volunteers and other lower rung employees, delimitation of Assembly constituencies, relief and rehabilitation of border residents, adequate compensation for Jammu farmers, one time settlement package for POJK migrants, conferment of State Subject rights to West -Pak refugees, abolition of Custodian Deptt, 33% reservation to Women in J&K Legislative Assembly, Dogra Certificate for Jammu youth, abolition of interviews of class III & IV posts, Inclusion of pre-2009 Ph.D scholars in the PSC interviews for the post of Asstt. Professors, release of teachers select list of Jammu and Udhampur districts, tenure of B.Ed course in Jammu region at par with Kashmir region, Tourism development of Jammu Pradesh etc, but the BJP maintained criminal silence.
The former Education Minister said that NPP had been fighting for the cause of Dogras right from the time of its inception which had vociferously and successfully raised all the Jammu related issues including the local problems of sewerage, drainage, construction of roads and fly-overs in particular.
Prominent among those who led the campaign included Naresh Chib, Jagdev Singh, Neeraj Gupta, Sanjeev Verma, Adv Vilakshan Singh, Gagan Pratap, Chetan Sharma, Manoj Gupta, Rajesh Gondhi, NP Singh, Nirmal Kishore, Ashfaq Rana, Shoquat Gill and Asha Rani.
