KISHTWAR, Dec 14: Demanding Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB) examination center here, hundreds of youth staged a protest here today.
Large number of youth assembled in front of DC Office here and raised slogans in favour of their demand. They also blocked the vehicular movement.
The protestors said that during SSRB examination, the youths hailing from Kishtwar district spend thousands of rupees for staying and food at Jammu, which is grave injustice with them.
“The aspirants belonging to poor families cannot bear the expenses of travelling and stay at Jammu in hotels”, they said.
The aspirants hailing from Kishtwar district and seeking jobs through the JKSSB have urged the Government to set up examination centre in the district Kishtwar for the convenience of the local unemployed youth.
They also submitted memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar to take up the matter with the concerned authorities.
They also appealed to the Chairman JKSSB to postpone the examinations to be conducted on December 25 and 26 and conduct the said examinations after January 15 as maximum of the aspirants have to appear for BEd examination to be conducted by University of Kashmir from December 22.
