Javaid for tough action against land mafia

JAMMU, Dec 9: Minister for Revenue, Javaid Mustafa Mir today in a move to take tough action against the encroachers, conducted expensive tour of Chowdi, Mishriwalla and Birpur area of Jammu and Samba districts.
The Revenue Minister directed the officials to deal firmly against encroachers, as encroaching public land is a criminal act and encroaching should be penalized accordingly. He further said that encroaching nallahs and khuds is not only a criminal offence but also blocks the natural flood channels which later becomes the principal reason for large scale damage during flash floods”.
During surprise visit to Chowdi,  Mishriwalla, Birpur, the Minister took serious note of encroachments on nallahs and khuds and directions were conveyed to DC Jammu and DC Samba to immediately remove  encroachments and submit the land record of the area  along with the google map within two days so that further action against the land mafia and delinquent officials can be taken.
Mr. Mir further instructed DC Jammu and DC Samba to submit all the conversion permissions and land records of Banquet Hall and other such infrastructure in these areas.
The Minister also paid surprise visit to SDM and Tehsil Office Vijaypur and directed the staff to maintain punctuality in offices.
