JAMMU, Dec 9: For the second consecutive day, All J&K ReT Teachers Fourm held massive protest dharna in front of Divisional Commissioner’s office, here today.
The protest against alleged anti-ReT approach, was led by State president of the Forum, Vinod Sharma and State general secretary Najam Jafari, who vowed to continue the struggle till logical conclusion.
The Forum said that the District administration had assured to arrange their meeting with the Government with in two days, but there has been no response from the State till now. So the Forum has decided to continue the dharna on Thursday at Press Club Jammu.
Vinod Sharma, while addressing the dharna, said that ReTs are being harassed by the Government on the name of screening test and verification of degrees by misinterpreting the court order. “Court has only asked to screen those ReTs/Teachers who have obtained their degrees from Tuk shops (fake Universities). But in the light of this judgement, the Education Department is considering all the Universities even Jammu University, Kashmir University, IGNOU, MANUU etc. as Tuk Shops and thus verifying the degrees issued by these Universities as well,” he added.
Highlighting other issues, Vinod Sharma lamented that thousands of SSA teachers are without salary for last 6 to 8 months and thus unable to provide basic necessities to their family members. “RETs/KGBV Teachers who have completed 5 years service have not been regularized for last 1 and half years and harassed on the name of so called verification and screening test. Mid-Day- Meals dues are pending for last one year, transfer policy as per court order is not being implemented,” he said.
The dharna was also addressed by Younis Rahi, Naresh Sharma, Sukh Dev Singh, Sajad Malik, Gulzabir Daing, Subash Chander, Shabir Chowdhary, Wahid Wani, Surjeet Singh, Mohd Yousaf Shah, Mushtaq Ahmed Dar, Shoukat Ali, Anita Kiran, Neha Sharma, Rishi Singh Rana, Nayaz Kirmani, Naseer Ahmed and others.
