UDHAMPUR, Dec 5: All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum today demanded action against the students who allegedly attacked a superintendent and deputy superintendent of an examination center of HSP-II Annual (Regular) constituted at HSS Panchari.
The Forum, which met under the chairmanship of Ashok Kumar Sharma, the district president of the Forum and discussed in detail the unfortunate incident in which two lecturers namely Ravinder Kumar and Rajeev Singh appointed as superintendent and deputy superintendent, respectively at Centre No 7108 established at HSS Panchari, were attacked by a group of about 12 to 15 candidates of the school near Panchari when they were returning to Udhampur after finishing the exam duty.
The victim lecturers reported the matter to SSP Udhampur and Deputy SP Udhampur. The incident was also reported to the Chief Education Officer, Udhampur.
The meeting demanded early action against the culprits. The speakers condemned the incident and warned that in case no action is taken against the culprit, they will go for exam boycott.
They also decided take up the issue with the Provincial unit of the Forum and urge them to meet the higher officers of the School Education Department and JKBOSE to provide security to the supervisory staff for conducting the Board Exams, especially in remote and far flung areas.
Prominent among others who were present in the meeting include Karnail Singh, Gopal Ram, Ram Murti, Veerinder Kumar, Bishan Sharma, Kuldip Singh, Rajeev Singh, Lal Chand, Joginder Kumar, Ashwani Kumar, Bhim Sein, Ravinder Kumar and Ashok Kumar.
