PG College Rajouri celebrates National Education Day

RAJOURI, Nov 7: Cultural and Literary Committee of Government PG College Rajouri today organized an Inter-College Symposium to celebrate National Education Day.
As many as 18 participants from various colleges took part in the symposium and presented their papers on the topic “Education as a streamliner for humanity”. Veteran educationists and writer, GN Shahbaz Rajourvi, was the chief guest where as Principal of the host college, presided over the function.
Prominent academicians and writers, Khurshid Bismil, Farooq Muztar, Dr Shakeel A Raina, Principal Government Degree College Thannamandi, Iqbal Shawl, KK Langer, Dr Saber Mirza, Nisar Hussain Rahi, Prof AR Choudhary, Dr MB Magray, Ashma Mirza and District Information Officer, Rajouri, AR Fida, were the guests of honour. On the occasion, all of them were awarded citations for their outstanding performance in the field of education, literature and social services.
In his inaugural address, Convener of the cultural and literary committee, Prof Iqbal Raina, said that education was the only possible tool for change and progress of any human society. He said that the demand of the current century was to work for quality education standing on the pillars of value based education.
In his presidential address, Prof Shabir Hussain extended his warm feelings to Khurshid Bismil, Farooq Muztar, KK Langer and Iqbal Shawl for their relentless efforts in the Peer Panchal region to provide quality education to the society through academics, literature and social works.
In the symposium first, second and third prizes were bagged by Ahlam Mir of PG College Rajouri, Alliya Iqbal of Himalayan Degree College Rajouri and Iflak Malik of PG College Rajouri, respectively.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Sushant Sharma and Iflak Malik while vote of thanks was given by Dr Ghulam Abass, HoD Persian.
