KATHUA, Oct 18: J&k Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) organised a traditional music programme at Hari Prabhu Sansthan, Gujru Nagrota, Billawar.
The function was presided over by Col DK Nanda, whileas ID Soni was the chief guest on the occasion.
While speaking, Col Nanda said that such musical programmes will encourage the local folk parties by providing them the platform here at Gujru Nagrota. He also appreciated the artists of the area for their wonderful performances in their impressive traditional dresses.
ID Soni, while addressing the gathering applauded the efforts of Cultural Academy for preservation and promotion of regional culture and traditional heritage by organizing such programs in the interior of Jammu region.
The folk parties who performed include Ram Ditta and party, Vijay Kumar and party and Archana Devi and party. The students from Gujru Nagrota also participated in the programme.
Earlier, Dr Ratan Basotra, Asstt Editor, Dictionary, presented the welcome address and also conducted the proceedings of the programme.
The programme was attended by prominent citizens of the area and large number of local people.
