KATRA, Oct 16: On third day of the All India Devotional Song Competition at Navratra Festival 2015, participants mesmerized the audience with the melodious voice and Bhajans.
Sonu Mangotra from Punjab bagged Ist Position while 2nd place was shared by Shivankur Bharti from Jammu, Shivam Sharma from Reasi, Bunty Kumar from Jammu and Reema Devi from Kanyala Jammu. 3rd position was shared by Vishwa Gandharv from Jammu among 14 participants.
The Devotional Song Competition was adjudged by the panels of experts in music including Brij Mohan, leading Music Composer, Dr Usha Bhagati and Ex-HoD Music.
The proceedings were conducted by Rakesh Wazir, who is chairman of the said Competition besides member Navratra Festival.
Earlier, the competition started with lighting of a traditional lamp by chief guest Chander Prakash Ganga, Minister for Industries along with MLA Reasi Ajay Nanda, Addl District Development Commissioner Rakhwal, SDM Katra Anil Chandel, District Information Officer, Reasi Dr Ashwani Hansa, Addl S P Katra Sameer Kotwal, Dy S P Katra Ashok Sharma, Tehsildar Katra Kavita Pandoh besides office bearers of Hotel & Restaurant Association Katra and members of Devotional Song Committee, Rakesh Wazir, Sham Lal Kesar, Sardari Lal Dubey, Harish Dubey, Virender Kesar, Ajay Sharma, Gopal Singh and others.
Chander Prakash Ganga, while speaking on the occasion, extended greetings on the occasion of Navratra Festival and said that All India Devotional Song Competition is the platform for the new singers.
