JAMMU, Oct 16: A week long sporting Bonanza “Jagruk Hindustani Premier Cricket League” (JHPCL) T20 Cricket Championship was organized by Chenab Brigade (local formation) of the Indian Army at Damana Military Station, here.
The aim of JHPCL was to provide a healthy and meaningful futuristic opportunity to the youths of Muthi-Damana, Gajansoo, Makwal, Chak-Gangu and Paragwal.
During this tournament a total of 8 teams from different regions participated with full enthusiasm and sports spirit. The final match was played between MGC Academy-1 and GC Club.
The MGC Academy-1 team won the Championship by four wickets. The winner team will be fielded as ‘Jaguar Damana’ for the “Super Six” series which will be played at ‘Zorawar Stadium’ at Sunjuwan Military Station from October 19 onwards.
Brigadier BS Bisht, SM, Commander Chenab Brigade, gave away the prizes and complimented all the teams, participated for their grit, determination and ‘Never Say Die’ spirit. He hoped that today’s youth and leaders of tomorrow would continue their quest for excellence and success is bound to come their way.
