JAMMU, Sept 6: Senior Congress Leader, Former Minister and general secretary PCC Dr Manohar Lal Sharma expressed serious concern over the rising prices of essential commodities.
In a statement issued, Dr Sharma said it is for the first time in the history of country that the prices of essential commodities are soaring so high.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders always accused the UPA Government over excise duty during Parliament elections and other public meetings, but are silent today over the increased excise duty by them”, he added.
Modi never missed any single occasion to make comment over UPA Government led by Dr Manmohan Singh. Now why he and his team are not fulfilling the promises made to the innocent peoples even after a lapse of one year, he questioned.
He opined that if Prime Minister is serious to control price rise than he has to slash down the excise duty on petroleum products which will give sigh of relief to the already over burdened peoples of this nation.
Dr Sharma added that the prices of the essential commodities are soaring high which reflects that the BJP led Government in the Centre and the State are non seriousness to redress the day-to-day issues of the people.
