Banned medical herb seized

UDHAMPUR, June 22:  The Forest officials today seized a big consignment of banned medical herb Viola Odorata (Gul-e-Banafsha) weighing 209.50 kgs from Platform number 1 of the Udhampur Railway Station.
The medicinal herb, packed in 10 bags, was lying near container of Uttar Sampark Kranti Express at 10 a.m.
Acting on a tip off, a team of Forest officials, headed by  Divisional Forest Officer Udhampur Harmohinder Singh and comprising Ranger Officer Udhampur Sanjeev Khajuria, Surinder Nath (Ranger officer Dudu), Naresh Kumar (Block Officer Town),  carried out searches in the Railway Station and seized the consignment.
The operation to identify and look out the culprits was on.
